Today we’re diving into comfort food, and who doesn’t love to do that! Sometimes, we need to feed our soul, rather than our body, sometimes we just need something sweet and creamy, or salty; sometimes we need something chocolatey; or that food that takes us right back to when we were young, to that safe place where the world was full of wonder. Sometimes our emotional health needs to take precedent over our physical health.
Comfort Food means something different to all of us, it can be personal, familial, and cultural. But one thing it usually is for all of us is high calorie, high fat, high sugar and/or salt. But let’s face it life would be pretty miserable without it. And this can be a source of conflict, anxiety or guilt for those of us who are trying to eat for blessing a benefit, who are looking to loose weight, or take control of our emotional eating.
Today I’m going to give you the tools you need to transform your favourite comfort foods into blessing filled super foods, that will provide health and wellness to your body as well as your soul, by defining what your comfort food is, looking at the food addictions that may be in play and how to deal with them, and giving you ingredient swaps and recipe hacks that will transform your comfort food.

Did you know that you can choose blessing? Well I’m here to tell you that you can! Today I’m going to share with you a secret from the word of God, that most believer’s are unaware of; today I’m going to share with you how you can know which foods carry the blessing of God, and give life and benefit to your body, so that you can choose God’s blessing even in the food you eat. And as an added bonus, I’ll be sharing recipes for 3 easy, delicious, plant-based, comfort food, meals with you + a bonus, guilt free dessert recipe.
I used to use food as a form of comfort, but also as a way of beating myself up, because of how I felt about myself; but that was never what God intended for me. God’s desire and intent is that the food we eat is a blessing to us and brings life, healing and length of days.
So you can choose to walk in blessing, or you can choose not to. You get to choose to eat differently, to eat foods that God gave as a blessing, and receive the health and wellness benefits in your body.
But the choice is yours.

there’s a meme gong around on social media that says, “You are what you eat, so don’t be fast, cheap, easy, or fake”? Like many things that are said in jest, there is an ocean of truth behind this saying. We live in a society where what was once eaten only on special occasions like birthdays, vacations, or celebrations is now our staple diet. Where the foods we predominantly eat are fast foods, junk foods, or convenience foods. And then we wonder why we feel sick, depressed, fatigued, and inflamed. In this episode we’re going to look at the relationship between the food we eat, how it’s grown and processed, and our physical and emotional health and wellbeing.

Have you ever found yourself at the bottom of a tub of ice cream, or packet of chips, and wondered how you got there; or found yourself eating whatever is in front of you, because you know you need to eat something, but don’t have the time or energy to make yourself a “proper” meal. Do you find yourself, at 2:30 in the afternoon, realising that you haven’t eaten yet, and grabbing a candy bar , or protein bar, to tie you over until you can eat a meal, which ends up being drive-thru fast-food on the way home because you’re too hungry and tired to wait til you get there. As I’ve met with believers, right across the globe, from many different churches, and walks of life the thing I’ve been astounded and dismayed by is how many of God’s people are dealing with illness, disease, and debilitating conditions; and how many of these conditions could be minimised, controlled or even removed from their lives, through very achievable lifestyle and dietary changes.
Today I’m going to give you 5 practical steps that you can start to use right away to reclaim your health, and grow your wellness; we’ll be looking at: Food and water, Movement, Reconnecting with nature, Fasting and prayer, and Rest.
I know what it’s like to feel constantly sick and tired, to deal with infections, allergies and sensitivities to common everyday things, and the interesting thing is that when I found what worked it wasn't treating my symptoms, but rebuilding my bodies ability to heal itself. So let’s get stuck in and look at the five ways that you can do that too.

Let me ask you another question; Why aren’t we walking in the fulness of the reality that the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of the living God that raised Jesus from the dead, dwells in us?
Why aren’t we seeing people healed as we pass by?
Why aren’t we seeing Pubs being turned into places of worship and hospitals being emptied by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The answer is this; The problem is not with the gift, with what we’ve been given, the problem is with our mindset, the paradigm that we live and think and function within, the paradigm of this fast paced, consumer society that has divorced us from our intimate relationship with the food we eat, the natural world around us, and God and each other.
Bit for most of us, we need to take things one step at a time; and that’s where the journey back to Eden comes in, and why it’s important.
We need to get back to Eden not because it’s the final destination, but because it’s a milestone along the way to the fullness of the kingdom reality that is our birthright in Christ.

God wants us to live from a place of His abundance, but we can only do that by positioning ourselves to receive, by showing ourselves faithful to God and His purpose and plan for us, through consistently, day by day, and moment by moment, living by His principles that He has set out in scripture.
We never lose by giving our all to God, He will always out give us.
When we step out of that place, no longer positioning ourselves to receive what God has for us, He calls to us, reminds us that we need to keep ourselves positioned to receive, but if we continue ignore the nudges of the Spirit, and continue in our own strength we will eventually start to see the lack.
But the moment we recognize that we are not where we need to be, we can realign ourselves. Get back on track.
And this is what The Good Way is all about.

Each moment of every day we have the choice to Seek First the kingdom of God; how much of the kingdom we experience, working both in us, and through us, depends on how we respond to those moments.
How willing we are to listen to the voice of God, in the moment.
This journey along The Good Way, is a journey in learning to Seek First the Kingdom of God. Where Mindfulness, Thankfulness, Consistency, and Creativity are the tools we use to Seek First the Kingdom of God, with passion, persistence, and preparedness.

We each have a purpose that we were created to fulfill;
But fundamental to that purpose is the original purpose that mankind was created for.
That purpose was a passionate, love relationship with our creator God.
If what we do, whether it’s as simple or mundane as eating a meal, or something of great significance to humanity; if it is done as a result of our passionate love of God, and overflowing from that our love of others, it will have not just earthly, temporal benefits, but also eternal worth.
How amazing is that, that the simple act of eating a meal, mindfully, and thankfully, as a creative act of worship to God, can end up having eternal significance and worth.
